Dr. Kwang Yul Cha, one of the most visionary medical doctors and entrepreneurs of our time, founded CHA Health Systems (CHS), the premiere healthcare conglomerate in Korea. Under his leadership, CHS has become a dynamic worldwide global healthcare group that owns and operates Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, the largest privately-owned hospital in Los Angeles, California. His landmark accomplishments have attracted worldwide media coverage from NBC, CBS, BBC, The Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, People Magazine and others.
Dr. Cha has had a distinguished career in academia. He was the Chancellor of the College of Medicine at CHA University and President of the Infertility Medical Center at CHA General Hospital, and completed his post doctoral fellowship in the Department of Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He was a visiting professor at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he established and operated CHA-Columbia Fertility Center in collaboration with Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Cha was awarded his M.D. at Yonsei University, College of Medicine, summa cum laude.
Among numerous significant medical advances and accomplishments, Dr. Cha has written books, medical reviews, and articles for medical journals. He has received nearly a dozen Prize Paper Awards conferred by the American Society for Reproduction Medicine (ASRM), the International Federation of Fertility & Sterility, and the European Society of Human Reproductive Endocrinology. Dr. Cha has been the distinguished guest speaker at over 100 international medical conferences and symposiums, and is the founder & president of the Pacific Rim Society for Fertility & Sterility—Asia’s first and most widely recognized society for fertility.
