Embryo and Sperm Cryopreservation

Cryopreservation, or freezing, of embryos is performed so that an IVF patient who doesn't get pregnant with the fresh cycle, or wants to have another child years later, can have available embryos without going through the ovulation induction process again. Freezing sperm allows men who are undergoing cancer treatment or other therapies that can result
in sterility to father their own biological children at a future time. Frozen sperm can remain viable almost indefinitely if properly stored.
